Times change, we have realized that it’s not necessary having a big and heavy equipment if we want to sound just like that, big and heavy. That’s why we have designed the Black 2060 head, thought for the nowadays alternative guitarist who is on tour, with band practice and studio recording sessions and who also needs to play at home. We have been able to integrate an amplifier with two channels and up to 60W Class-A power. Yes, that’s enough to pull walls down, but it complies with the volumes to use micro both live and in studio.
You have in your hands a Channel 1 that offers clean, round and dynamic sounds. By increasing gain (using its Gain control)you get soft saturations and even a Crunch gains tone that you won’t want to leave.
For the most aggressive guitarists we have a fundamental tool: Channel 2. Starting with Crunch gains, going through sounds like the legendary Plexi, reaching High Gain distortions with compact body and definition. Complete and fun.
Something really important is the Master control, with which you can manage the output volume without losing tone. You can turn it down and play at home or turn it up and get loose. Forget about attenuators or watt selectors, you can take both channels as far as you want.
For compensating the speaker’s excitement when we are at high volumes, we have the Scream control, with which you can manage the brightness of the power stage, in case you want your sound to get darker or give it more definition when everything around you sounds loud.
As you can see, this amplifier is really small and compact, very handy and hardly occupies space in any car or van. It has six tubes and two good transformers inside, which you can notice when you hold it.

We trust in Tung-sol 12AX7 for the V1 input tube, because is a high quality, very stable and natural sound tube, for the rest of the preamp electronic circuit the ECC83 from JJ-electronics brings an excellent performance and detail. In that way, the Black-2060 preamp brings a high-end dynamic overdive tone.
Tung-sol manufacture a contemporany 6L6-GC tube built to the same Special Tube Request specs of leading amplifier manufacturers of the 1960s, great musical tone, smooth overdrive and awesome stability, for these reasons we use them as standard tubes at the power amp stage of the Black-2060.
